The growth and development of communication technologies in recent years has caused social networks to become an integral part of everyday life and the use of these networks in the direction of public diplomacy and cyber diplomacy has dramatically increased. Meanwhile, Twitter, as one of the most influential social networks, has become an important platform for public diplomacy. This study seeks to introduce two indicators of proximity to the horizontal structure of social networks and the use of the capacity of social networks for networking to review and compare the performance of the two accounts of the Chinese Ambassador in Tehran and the account of the Persian US State Department, towards the Islamic Republic of Iran based on defined indicators and analyze data collected from the social network Twitter. The findings of this study show that the account of the Chinese ambassador in Tehran in terms of the above indicators has been more successful than the Persian account of the US State Department.

The subject of this article is “U.S Cyber Diplomacy Influence on Viewpoint of Iranian Users of Cyberspace (Case Study: Voice of America Website)”. U.S government tried to implement various cultural, social and educational programs to convince people about its foreign policy goals, and it became known as public diplomacy. Considering Iran’s high stance in U.S foreign policy, its Department of State launched various cyber diplomacy projects including Voice of America website to influence Iranians. The key question of this article is: What is the Influence of Radio Farda website, on Viewpoint of Iranian Users of Cyberspace? For this purpose, qualitative content analysis of Voice of America website and sending questionnaires has been used. The hypothesis is that, comparing to Iranian Internet users who do not read Voice of America website content, the Voice of America website users are more influenced by cyber diplomacy content and messages and this leads to negative attitude towards Iranian society in economic, social, cultural and political aspects.
