One of the most fundamental issues facing today's societies is the social identity that has undergone major changes with the advent of virtual networks. The virtual world is relatively separated from the real world with features such as inability, transcendence, multiplicity, accessibility, synchronization, and so on. Fundamental to the formation of social identities is human interaction. In fact, when one interacts with another, one finds his/her identity as a member of society. Identity is defined in the context of social interaction. In Iranian society, identities have become fluid and changeable. Traditional identities are gradually being questioned and new identities emerging that do not have previous integration and stability. According to the socio-technical changes of Tehran information society, the domestication of ICTS has led to facilitate the idea of human and technology mutuality in some aspects from cognitive to acting levels.Teenage social actors are of more adaptability with the new technologies in the dimension of everyday actions, in so far as the intensification of dependency to up-to-date technologies provides the setting of technology and human’s agency incorporation. Researchers seek to analyze some aspects of the family life concerning the mentioned matter according to teen’s (as the new generation) and also parents’ attitude. After the preparatory assessment of Tehran metropolis atlas, applying both purposive and typical sampling and adopting the method of semi-structured interview, the authors interviewed 120 teens and 20 cases of parents. The theoretical approach has based on the dichotomy of the structure-agency for human and technology and multi-step coding analysis besides typification have been used. The results show that a spectrum of diverse attitudes, such as the triplet of technicists, conservationists, and humanists, between teens and parents is identifiable. One of the key themes in analysis of the subject and possibility of the agency corporation is the idea of “technology as power source” for teens. A kind of “the new anthropology” is forming to interpret teens’ action due to their connexion to the gadgets and new technologies, in as much as it implies a certain level of merging actor with new emerging technologies. In this perspective, attention to the concept of the “power exhibition” is of significance.

This study aims to identify parents’ motivations to do sharenting on Instagram. Also, it studies the way that parents feel responsible about the different examples of children’s privacy violations on this social media site. Different types of sharenting, children’s privacy, privacy in the networked society, children’s online security, social benefits of sharenting, economic motivations, privacy stewardship, privacy calculus theory, and the emergence of moral phobia have been explored. 267 parents (mother/father) have been interviewed by an online questionnaire through convenient and snowball sampling. “Connection to family and friends”, “making online albums” and “sharing the pleasant feelings due to children’s attractive activities with the others” are the most important motivations of parents to sharent. Also based on the model of the study and factor analysis, the examples of privacy violations have been divided into “very sensitive” and “common” types. The findings show that there is a direct correlation between the parent's education and the way they react to privacy violation examples. In other words, the more they are educated, the more they care about their children’s privacy. Furthermore, the parents who have given a thought to probable risks of sharenting are much more sensitive to the examples of privacy violations.

New media capabilities like Instagram allow people to get involved in the creation of their persona. However, not everyone has the same conditions to become a microcelebrity, it is thus important to identify the mechanisms of microcelebrities in order to understand how they gain fame. The impacts of microcelebrities are not restricted to Instagram and they also affect social relationships in real space. The aim of this study is to present a typology of Iranian microcelebrities on Instagram, as well as analyze their mechanisms and represented themes in different genres like lifestyle, food, motivation, education, and beauty. This study focused on 236 Instagram posts from 50 microcelebrities and the research method was netnography with purposeful sampling. Based on the results, 23 types of microcelebrities in the popular genres were recognized. Also, 23 subthemes, 9 main themes, and 1 core theme were extracted. Life on screen, Instagram as a shop vitrine, Interweaving of emotional bonds and profit, unplanned activism, food as display, the shortcut to success, Individualism, fast-foodization of training, Instagrammable beauty, and McDonaldization of fame were themes extracted from the fivefold genres. Fame on Iranian Instagram is available for users as instant food and they try to become microcelebrities by adopting similar and fast-yielding mechanisms. Keywords: Microcelebrity, Typology, McDonaldization, Instagram, Fame. IntroductionNew media specifically Instagram have capabilities that allow people to become famous. Nowadays, Instagram users desire to be well-known in their favorite fields. Regardless of class, ethnicity, and gender, people can engage in autonomous activity in cyberspace without considering social norms and the requirements of fame, a process that is called “democratic fame” which facilitates the increased accessibility of ordinary people to the “ladder of fame” (Driessens, 2012: 646). However, not everyone has equal conditions to become famous, it is important to identify the mechanisms of microcelebrities in order to understand how they gain fame. Celebrity scholars consider the technological platform and the democratic space of social media as necessary but insufficient conditions for being a microcelebrity (Driessens 2012; Senft 2013, 2008; Marwick and Boyd 2013, 2011; Abidin 2018).They believe that a set of individual and structural conditions in creating microcelebrities and their durability is involved. Regarding these explanations, Iranian Instagram-based microcelebrities practice in diverse genres such as lifestyle, fashion and beauty, food, education, health, travel, and so on. They create their own audiences, use particular mechanisms, generate and share content on their Instagram accounts, and influence their followers. Nevertheless, the impacts of microcelebrities are not restricted to Instagram, they also affect social relationships, lifestyle, body culture, education, and other aspects of everyday life in the real space of society.PurposeThe aim of this study is to present a typology of Iranian microcelebrities on Instagram, as well as scrutinize their mechanisms and represented themes in five genres including lifestyle, food, motivation, education, and beauty, and examine the consequences of their virtual practices which has not been addressed in previous researches.MethodologyThis study focused on 236 Instagram posts and stories from 50 microcelebrities in five various genres including lifestyle, food, motivation, education, and beauty. The research method was netnography. In addition, the observational approach was adopted as the main strategy in this research. Samples were chosen by purposeful sampling with these criteria; continuous activity on Instagram for more than 3 years, having a business account with public status, and producing content related to their genre. The unit of analysis was microcelebrities’ accounts contents (both posts and stories). And, the thematic analysis was used to analyze the data.ResultRegarding the findings, 23 types of microcelebrities were recognized in popular genres and also 23 subthemes, 9 main themes, and 1 core theme were extracted from the fivefold genres. Life on screen, Instagram as a shop vitrine, Interweaving of emotional bonds and profit, unplanned activism, food as display, the shortcut to success, individualism, fast-foodization of training, Instagrammable beauty, and McDonaldization of fame were represented themes among lifestyle bloggers.Instagram as a shop vitrine was a main theme among lifestyle bloggers. The displaying of material assets, entertainment and happiness, and consuming luxurious goods and products, were integral parts of the lifestyle bloggers' accounts that promoted "conspicuous consumption". Also, life on screen was another central theme among lifestyle bloggers. They recorded everyday affairs, considered Instagram as a diary and improved their reputation by dramatizing their daily life. Interweaving emotional bonds and profit as another theme explain the fact that bloggers use their digitalized personas to access social and economic capital. Unplanned activism was a prevalent theme among female bloggers, they bypassed official norms such as hijab by adopting different "tactics".Food as a display was the key theme among food bloggers. By treating the follower as a customer and creating a media persona, they attempted to gain fame and income, and for realizing this goal, they attracted followers with various tricks and strategies. Themes including the shortcut to success and individualism were represented by motivational bloggers. They promoted neoliberal ideology in society by accentuating personal abilities regardless of the structural contexts with their one-dimensional attitude. Fast-foodization of education was extracted from educational bloggers. They provided simple and fast-yielding content for their followers by combining education, entertainment, and profit. They also cultivated the commoditization of education. And, Instagrammable beauty was a significant theme among beauty bloggers. They displayed the ideal body and reproduced standard body features. Last but not least, the core theme was the McDonaldization of fame. According to observations, bloggers mostly attracted attention and obtained symbolic capital by performing micro-celebrification mechanisms including exhibitive intimacy, authenticity, selective disclosure, self-branding, and life-streaming.DiscussionAccording to Gorge Ritzer’s McDonaldization theory and its components; efficiency, calculability, predictability, and control (Ritzer, 2002), microcelebrities are prosumers. They consume content on social media and simultaneously they generate content independently by removing media intermediaries which signify their efficiency. They also have a calculability characteristic with respect to their account visit reports. In other words, more followers bring them firm online status, validity, and further profit. In regard to predictability, the fame industry offers specific and similar practices that users should perform to become a microcelebrity. So, it is easy to replace one microcelebrity with another, since most of them look alike. For exerting the control feature, microcelebrities monitor and control the way content is posted on their Instagram accounts to promote their fame by increasing and maintaining their number of followers.ConclusionDespite the different activities of microcelebrities, they often practice similarly to each other and the dominance of quantity over quality of fame is seen in their representations. The results demonstrate that fame is available to users on Instagram like fast food. In other words, McDonaldized fame allows early access to fame regardless of gender, class, and other factors. Eventually, People try to become famous and turn themselves into microcelebrities by adopting similar and fast-yielding mechanisms.

Digital games are among essential forms of entertainment among different groups, especially young people. Data from Iranian national video council confirms that more than fifty percent of young people play digital games either at home or at game cafes. Despite increasing popularity of digital games among you people, there have been concerns about negative effects of video games on players’ aggressive behavior in real life and their mental inclinations. Theories and findings about video game effects are not consistent and they are at times in clear opposition. In this paper, we review major approaches in video game effects analysis. We found that two essential approaches include social science approach and humanities. Through two research methods including document analysis and meta analysis of the literature we illustrate how and why major game effects approaches are in opposition. We indicate why there are inconsistencies about findings for video game effects. Finally, true answer to the question whether playing video games would result in aggressive behavior in real life is provided.

In this study we have compared narrative structure of Disney animations and their respective computer-games as their by-products. The purpose of this research is to identify how the meanings created by these two structures related to each other. In this study, we used Vladimir Propp's and Lévi-Strauss's approaches. Based on Lévi-Strauss's views, narratives have a structure which creates special meanings to resolve conflicts symbolically. Vladimir Propp's narratology was used in performing a syntagmatic analysis and the study of the way Ingredients were combined in the narrative structure. Using Lévi-Strauss's binary oppositions we did a paradigmatic analysis in order to determine the meaning made by the narrative structures. The methodology of this study is based on a structured study of the text which was done using Propp's method of narratology. The results show that the narrative structure of the animations which is based on value-based judgment changes to value-based responsibilities in the games. In the animations, a way of living is judged to be positive and a symbolic solution for the conflict between good and evil. In the respective video games, this way of living becomes the responsibility of the players. In fact the narrative structure of the games makes the players adhere to the values introduced in the animations.

The present study was aimed at investigating the effects of new media consumption upon the entrepreneurial intention of the students of entrepreneurship at Tehran University. The method applied in the research was a questionnaire-based survey, with the statistical population consisting of all M.A. and PhD students selected using the stratified sampling method. The results showed a significantly direct relationship between the use of new online media and all variables. The structural equation-modeling analysis of the theoretical model, based on AMOS software, was employed. In the modeling process, the basic model was modified for three times and the final model was extracted and analyzed based on the Goodness-of-Fit Index. The analysis of the relationships in the final model suggested that the use of new Internet media did not directly influence the students' entrepreneurial intentions but indirectly affected their entrepreneurial intentions by influencing their perceived desirability, feasibility, and pragmatism.

Since late 2013, Ukrain has been the scene of various social-political events and developments. The Spark of crisis has started when Victor Yanakvych, the incumbent president refused signing a trade agreement with the EU. It provoked many people to oppose the decision by striking in Kiev’s Independence Square. These developments in the short term led to the emergence of a pro-Western government in Kiev, the separation of the Crimea and East regions from Ukraine. Aside the different aspects and origins of the crisis in Ukraine, the role and influence of the news media in shaping public opinion and directing the events are undeniable. The Cable News Network (CNN) and RT (Russia Today) along their strategic policies have framed the Ukrainian crisis in special directions. The main question of this paper is that how the satellite news networks of CNN and RT has framed the Ukrainian crisis. The hypotheses of this paper are: 1. The CNN has framed the Independence Square protests (Maidan Revolution) as well as overthrowing Viktor Yanukovych Government as popular and pro-democratic revolution. It also framed the referendum and annexation of the Crimean peninsula to Russia as aggression and occupation. But RT has framed the popular protest as Westen –provoked ilegal munity and the Crimian annexation as along democracy and International Law. The methodology of this paper based on descriptive-analysis research using content analysis. The data collection is carried out according to library resources and the Internet.

n this qualitative study, by studying the car fans' pages on Instagram based on the Butler Performative identity approach, not only the way of performing the gender identity of the woman or the female subject was determined, but also an attempt was made to examine and argue the discourse shaping such performance. Findings based on participants' perceptions showed that women objectify their existence through their sexual body behaviors. They perceive their body as a commodity in which they can develop themselves and shape their feminine identity. Thus, gender performances often take the form of body shows and sexual performances. Such an understanding of the female gender and the performances is the main axis of the discourse of libidinal economy. A new economic discourse that is based on the intersection of gender and economics. An intersection in which the axis of the economy and the sexual body intertwine. The female sexual body is the link in this intersection. Therefore, a woman's sexual characteristics become her most important gender characteristics. That is, gender is more about sex and its reproduction.
