The main purpose which this article follows, is comparative studying on the role of “telegram” as a social network and broadcasting media “IRIB” in advertising about the 12th presidential election. For achieving to this goal, we referred to the ideas of skillful professors and the votes of experts who have cognition about “telegram”, as a new phenomenon. The first result indicates that the user of internet is “very much”, and the measure of using the “telegram” is “much”. I mean not as much as internet but it is much more than others. However, the reasons for using the social channel of “telegram” as the experts said was getting information, data and also getting the recent political and social news. Meanwhile, the researchers have studied on the important recent issue “the 12th presidential elections” and they compered the role of “IRIB” and “telegram” in attracted the attentions of user of telegram and the TV audience. The demonstrative results show that there is a connote (semantic)connection between watching the animations and videos via telegram and the number of people taking part in presidential elections. Among the different functions of “telegram” being on line. Being having accessible and having high speed and spreading the candidates’ messages in election, there is a specific connection. At last, it is suggested that we should think on using telegram as a devise to serve for IRIB not think of it is a threatening device, and we change this threaten to an ideal chance for a future schedule(preview).

Post-television, as a result of media convergence, does not mean the death of television but it can be understood as the restructure of television production, distribution and consumption modes. Media convergence as a structural change threatens broadcasting institutions and Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), as a state-owned broadcaster with monopolistic position, faces more challenges. Through a face-to-face, in-depth interviews, this study shows, IRIB recognizes the potential and challenges of new environment and puts suitable activities on its agenda include launching Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT), establishing new channels, upgrading some channels to HD, using Satellite for signal distribution at national level and initiating some regional and global satellite television channel in English, Arabic, and Spanish. There is a variety of critiques to these activities: a Technophilia approach affects IRIB plans; in absence of a market system, IRIB have to rely on insufficient command system and finally, national security is main drive of IRIB development.

Public sphere is the real field of emergence and continuity of social communications, institutions, and civil associations. Mass Medias, especially virtual social networks. Are among social phenomena which have close relationship with public sphere. In contemporary world, the result of the activities and experiences of the members of a society in virtual social networks, as a social determinant, can change the domain of the public sphere. This research concentrates on this relation, and in other word, it is a probe to answer the question that “can the virtual social networks strengthen the ability of social actors on non-virtual public sphere?” This research is applied, quantitative and explanatory, the logic of it is deduction, and its method is survey. The theoretical focus of the research is on the ideas of Hannah Arendt, Jurgen Habermas and recent standpoints in the field of public sphere and media. Studied population are students of Tehran universities in 2015-16. Sampling population of this research are 310 students and the sampling method is multi- instance probability. These two statement are the most important empirical findings of the research: First, the membership in few virtual social networks or too many of them doesn’t have any determinant role in the quantity of activity in non-virtual public sphere (civil associations). Second, activity in non-virtual public sphere decreases along with the increasing in the quantity of student’s activity in virtual social networks.

This paper examines the difference between the fame in real versus virtual world, aiming to introduce and develop new methods of studying the net and analyzing the extent to which the media-effect theories are applicable in an age when new issues are being born and expanded in virtual atmosphere. Moreover, the paper tries to compare and contrast the ability of different media on creating individual fame. In order to do that, Google has been chosen as the basic tool for generating a list containing the most famous people who share a similar first name (i.e. Mohammad). Using Schulman and Lamport’s method for quantifying the fame, a coefficient named as fame index has been then calculated for any of the people whose names are mentioned in the list and the numbers have been compared with the data gathered through a survey which was set to examine their fame in the real world. In the next step, the findings have been explained by cultivation theory. The findings indicate that the fame index and its ranking are significantly different in real and virtual atmosphere and different types of media have different capacities for promoting fame. In the other words, this shows that there is a difference between “what and who people want to know about” and “what and who people actually know about.”

Since late 2013, Ukrain has been the scene of various social-political events and developments. The Spark of crisis has started when Victor Yanakvych, the incumbent president refused signing a trade agreement with the EU. It provoked many people to oppose the decision by striking in Kiev’s Independence Square. These developments in the short term led to the emergence of a pro-Western government in Kiev, the separation of the Crimea and East regions from Ukraine. Aside the different aspects and origins of the crisis in Ukraine, the role and influence of the news media in shaping public opinion and directing the events are undeniable. The Cable News Network (CNN) and RT (Russia Today) along their strategic policies have framed the Ukrainian crisis in special directions. The main question of this paper is that how the satellite news networks of CNN and RT has framed the Ukrainian crisis. The hypotheses of this paper are: 1. The CNN has framed the Independence Square protests (Maidan Revolution) as well as overthrowing Viktor Yanukovych Government as popular and pro-democratic revolution. It also framed the referendum and annexation of the Crimean peninsula to Russia as aggression and occupation. But RT has framed the popular protest as Westen –provoked ilegal munity and the Crimian annexation as along democracy and International Law. The methodology of this paper based on descriptive-analysis research using content analysis. The data collection is carried out according to library resources and the Internet.

The purpose of this study was to identify a variety of body types among Iranian Instagram users. Two main research questions guided the study as I sought to explore 1) What is the dominant pattern of body re-presentation among Iranian Instagram users? 2) What is the strategies, technics and purpose of Iranian Instagram users for re-presentation of body? In order to respond these questions I used combination of dramaturgical approach of Goffman and Butler ideas about gender. I used virtual ethnography and Sade-beck module as a method of the study. I was trying to collect data through deeply semi structured interviews with 26 users, participant observation and analysis of virtual content. Thick description and interpretive analysis were used for analyzing data. Based on obtained data mediated body on Instagram divided to three main types: Social, perfomative and aesthetic body. Each of these types is explained to be divided into smaller categories.
