The increasing in the use of new media has attracted scholars’ attention to the relationship between those technologies and variant aspects of everyday life and a great number of contradictory perspectives have been postulated regarding implications of new media technologies in relation to families. In our society, the growing use of modern media has also led to significant studies of the impact of these media on families. In this study, we formulate diverse views on the effects of new media on families grounded in three approaches, namely pathological, positive effects and the complexity of effects approach, and consequently, published articles during last decade (2006-2016) were investigated. By utilizing meta-analysis as research method, the articles were scrutinized from various aspects such as theoretical approaches, methodology, research variables and findings. The findings indicated that those articles were mostly focused on pathological approach, and new media was represented as a harmful media. What is more, the complexity of new media effects, the role of variables and mediator factors as well as the role of families in acceptance or rejection of media, and controlling their effects have been overlooked. In this way, a passive image of family’s exposure to such media has been revealed. Ultimately, some suggestions on how to apply substantive theories, specifically in the field of family, mixed methods and longitudinal studies were offered. Moreover, paying serious attention to the influence mechanisms and mediator variables was accentuated in order to grasp the mutual relationship between new media and divergent facets of family.

This study was conducted with the aim understanding “mobile digital” lifestyle of students, which we have called “mobital”. Using grounded theory methodology and relying on episodic interviews with students from two top universities (Allameh Tabataba’i and Sharif) in three main educational groups (Humanities, Engineering and Basic Sciences), the data were coded with “Nvivo 10”. Contrary to those researches who only highlight the sense of gratification from the use of new ICT’s, the findings reveal that the lived experience of students exposed to mobital devices, is a “paradoxical mixture of satisfaction and dissatisfaction”. Although this experience tends to create “cognitive dissonance” and contradictory feelings towards mobital devices, students have found strategies to handle it. They try to maximize their interests and stay away from its damages with “choosing rationally” exercising more “self-control”. In brief, the findings suggest that the three elements of students, devices and society are jointly construct “mobital lifestyle”. This provides an important case for assessing validity of existing theories and gives us valuable information for future research on new media and students’ lifestyles.

Method: This research was a questionnaire in terms of method, survey and data gathering tool. The mean reliability coefficient of its indices was estimated as 0.76 according to Cronbach's alpha. The sample size was estimated based on Cochran formula 384 and the required information was collected from 385 people by cluster sampling. Findings: The findings of this research showed that there are a direct and significant relationship between the components of answering questions, eliminating doubts, quality of family education, easy access to the media and raising awareness with the amount of religious content consuming. In this regard, based on regression analysis, the components of easy access and awareness raising Arrangements have the most predictive power of the dependent variable.

The purpose of this research is to identify and analyze the social media users' literacy by telegraphic case study. Research data was gathered among users in social media using a researcher-made questionnaire with twenty four classes in the field of media literacy. Data analysis is done on two levels of descriptive and inferential statistics. The results of the study showed that the average media literacy of media literacy indexes from the 20th rank was equal to the analysis of the message (355.12), the truth of the message (12.29), self-regulation (11.667), the interpretation of the message (535/11), curiosity (146/10), explanation (131/10), which in total media literacy of social media users equals (11357/11). Media literacy was not the same in the users' gender. In addition, there was a significant difference between education and field of study and the type of university users with their media literacy rate. Other results showed a direct (positive) relation between the age of their media literate users and the negative (negative) relation between the use of telegram and media literacy among users. Also, according to the regression test, two variables of education were (0.217) and telegram usage (586.0) was the explanatory factor for media literacy. Finally, the level of media literacy in social media (social media telegram) among users is moderate to high of about 567%

The present study is intended to answer the question that how the quality of life in dialysis patients can be monitored by mobile-health-based information technology. This was an applied-developmental study, in which the indices introduced in the Kidney Disease Quality of Life Short Form (KDQOL-SF) were initially ranked from the viewpoints of three groups of physicians, patients and their hospital attendants, and the weighting criteria of each indicator were specified. In the following, the dynamic system for monitoring quality of life in dialysis patients was modeled and designed based on the weight of the obtained indices. The architecture provided for the system is based on three-layer MVC architectural pattern. The reporting services and access levels were also used in the design of the system. The results of ranking of the main indices of the quality of life in chronic kidney patients suggest that although the opinions of the groups of physicians and hospital attendants are different in weighting the criteria, they are similar in ranking of indices. Moreover, accurate analysis and collecting the data obtained from the ranking of quality indices were used in the implementation of the system to form the data model; and after the analysis and modification, a suitable model for system requirements was designed and used.

It seems that media and virtual spaces may persuade public to make change the smoking behavior as an interfering factor. This paper wants to recognize writing criteria in persuasive health related content, and to assess Iranian health websites which produce and distribute smoking related texts by regarding recognized criteria. For this, it synthesizes planed behavior theory (PBT) and persuasion theory to make distinguish persuasive criteria for changing behavior. Then, by considering these 16 categories as effective and by using qualitative approach and directed qualitative content analysis, the smoking related content in eight websites between April 2017 and December 2017 are analyzed. The overall number of smoking-related texts is 67 cases. Data are analyzed by MAXQDA 10. Findings show that health-related texts have low ability to make change in smoking behavior among smoker audiences. Fear, quotation, and brief-clear concluding have more frequency than other 13 criteria. So, their potential to make change in audience attitude is low. To increase their changing ability, it is needed that content providers consider other 13 criteria, too.

The use of internet in all areas, is increasing. Students are among the main users of the Internet. The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of internet parenting styles on the actual use of the Internet by students at home. For this purpose, 300 parents of ninth grade students were selected using cluster sampling. They responded to a questionnaire consisting of parents and children characteristics, use of the internet, and internet parenting styles with two dimensions: parental control and parental warmth. The results showed that the majority of families have access to the Internet at home (78%) and the authoritative parenting style was dominant (43.7%). Parents’ access to the internet at home is related to their age and education. As well as parenting styles influenced by gender, age, education, experience and attitude of the parents. Internet parenting styles also affect students’ internet usage. The highest child usage level is perceived when parents adopt a permissive parenting style and the lowest level is observed when parents adopt an authoritarian parenting style. Education, control, experience and gender of parents predict internet usage of students at home (R2= .21). Finally, it was concluded that internet parenting styles is a new factor to explain and predict the acceptance and use of the Internet by students.
